INDIVIDUAL TREATMENT FOR YOUR SKIN

Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty

Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty is a common procedure used to tighten the skin around the eyelids, leading to a much younger, rejuvenated appearance. However, the traditional method involves surgery – something many patients are understandably reluctant to go through.

Thanks to advancements in the field, there’s now a new, non-surgical blepharoplasty procedure available. It provides significant improvement, comes with very few risks, and offers minimum downtime – suited for those looking to avoid going under the knife. Non-surgical blepharoplasty uses technology to tighten up the skin around the eyelid.

  • What does Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty involve?

There are numerous ways this can be achieved, with some practitioners using specialised laser treatment, or other medical devices which encourage the production of collagen and temporarily tighten the skin.

The Specialist Skin Clinic uses a radiofrequency device to create tiny wounds on the upper eyelid. As these wounds heal new collagen is formed which is accompanied by a mild tightening effect.

Typically three treatments, spaced around four to six weeks apart are needed to achieve the best results.

  • Benefits of Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?

    Benefits of Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?

Obviously, the main benefit of non-surgical blepharoplasty is the fact you’ll avoid going under the knife. This means there’s much fewer risks and you won’t need to worry about a long recovery period. However, it is important to realise that it does come with restrictions as to what can be achieved.

The procedure would best suit those with very few other signs of facial ageing and mild skin laxity. However, it could be combined with other non-surgical procedures if the signs of ageing around the eyes and the eyelids are mild, but you have more visible wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead for example. In this instance, fillers or Anti-Ageing Injectables  could be used alongside non-surgical blepharoplasty.

You’ll typically find the procedure lasts around 30 minutes and any bruising or swelling should go down within one to two weeks. It is recommended you wait one week before resuming your daily activities and results take approximately 4 weeks to be visible.

  • What about restrictions of Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?

Well, the Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty method aims to solely tighten the skin. Therefore, it won’t address other issues that the surgical method does such as fat prolapse; known to cause swelling of the eyelid.

To find out whether non-surgical blepharoplasty is right for you, book a consultation today with the Specialist Skin Cilinic in Cardiff. For many patients, it can be an excellent instant solution for mild hooding and droopy eyelids. However, it isn’t suitable for everyone and surgery may be needed for more severe signs of facial ageing.
