Eyebag Surgery

If you suffer with sagging eyelids, visible eye bags or are generally unhappy with the way the area around your eyes looks, eye bag surgery can help.

Eyebag Surgery Procedure.

Many men suffer with sagging eyelids or under eye bags that are prominent; both of which can be corrected with eye bag surgery. Eye bag surgery is a cosmetic procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the eyes by removing excess skin.

  • Are there different types of eye bag surgery?

Yes, there are three main types of eye bag surgery and your cosmetic surgeon will provide information on the procedure that is best suited to the results you want. The three types of eye bag surgery are:

    • Upper Blepharoplasty – This procedure is performed along the upper eyelid crease.
    • Lower Blepharoplasty – This procedure is performed along the lower eyelid to remove excess fat.
    • Both procedures can be performed together for a complete eye bag surgery procedure.
  • How does eye bag surgery work?

With age, many men notice the skin surrounding their eyes begins to sag and under eye bags become more prominent. Eye bag surgery works by making incisions in the creases of the eyelids or on your bottom lash line to remove excess fat and tighten the area.

  • Are there risks involved in eye bag surgery?

Eye bag surgery is a relatively low risk procedure and the majority of surgeries are completed without a problem. Pain and numbness should be expected, but this usually goes within 3-7 days.

There are some uncommon risks with eye bag surgery such as infection, scarring and blurred vision. These will be discussed with the cosmetic surgeon before the procedure.

  • How long does it take to recover from eye bag surgery?

We recommend 1-2 weeks are taken off of work after eye bag surgery to allow for recovery. Sports and strenuous activities should be avoided for 2-4 weeks after the surgery.

  • Who will perform the eye bag procedure?

All eye bag surgery procedures are carried out by an experienced cosmetic surgeon, who can answer any questions and queries at your initial consultation.
